Updating From Previous Versions

When updating from previous versions, be sure to delete the old version first to ensure no older files are left in the Web Gallery directory.  Some files may contain custom settings.  Be sure to update those files in the new version before uploading a Web Gallery to your web site.

As an alternative, updating from one minor release to the next can be accomplished by only copying the changed files.  This only works when going from a X.Y release to an X.Y+1 release.  For example, when updating from 3.1 to 3.2.  When updating from 3.1 to 3.3 or from 2.5 to 3.0, perform a full delete of the old version first.

In order to determine which files have changed between minor releases, view the updates.txt file included with the LRG Complete© download.  Instructions will be contained in that file for the current update.

NOTE:  The most common files that contain custom changes are the adminpw.php and mail.php files in the LRG Complete© - Gallery template and the pw.php file in the LRG Complete© - Pages and LRG Complete© - Contact templates.  Other files may contain changes.

Be sure to backup your old LRG Complete© templates prior to deleting them.  If you forget to record some of the custom changes you made to your files or if the new version does not work on your system, you will need to access your backup templates..
